In 2008, I served as an Assistant with the Event Management of the Miss Nigeria in America Pageant in Hollywood, California and after was contracted byway of The Miss Nigeria in America Foundation as the official Manager of Miss Nigeria in America 2008, Ronke Oke through Cognoscenti Management. She was able to host a number of events and be associated with several great events including presenting at ”Beyond The Tears” Humanitarian Awards at the Apollo Theater, presenting at the NEA Awards at Howard University, and being featured in African Vibes’ I Wear African Campaign. Cognoscenti Management was responsible for booking MNIA 2008 for events, accompanying her travels, and arranging Media exposure opportunities.

Eva Pigford Eva Pigford

In 2007, as the President of the Black Student Union of Goucher College (Umoja), I managed a Fashion Show where I was responsible for booking America’s Next Top Model and CoverGirl Eva Pigford, providing Hospitality Services for Eva Pigford, as well as coordinating Print and Social Advertisement and Media/PR Involvement in a Fashion Show entitled, “Innovate The Runway” at the Kraushaaur Auditorium of Goucher College and an Afterparty (at a venue which was once Red Fish) in Baltimore, Maryland. Later that year, I officially incorporated Cognoscenti Management, LLC and begun providing services in Event Management, Administrative Services, Celebrity/Artist Booking, PR/Marketing Services, Fundraising Services (for Non-Profits), and more - to Small Businesses, Individuals, and Non-Profit Organizations from the East Coast to the West Coast.

Cognoscenti Management (CM) has worked with Dignity Congo on several projects in the past. Dignity Congo is a Non-Profit Organization that works to aims to build awareness about the conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo. They also have head projects in the DRC that are catered towards providing educational resources for communities and cost-effective energy resources (green energy) within communities. This particular project was Event Management for a Forum held at American University in Washington, DC called “Kanissa Conference” on October 22, 2009. The panel discussion featured Activist and Director of Dignity Congo - Edward Senga, Author of The Congo Wars - Thomas Turner, and Investigation Journalist, Essayist, and Author of Ces Tuers Tutsi - Charles Onana. CM covered the event’s Event Management, Advertisement and Brochure (Design, Content, and Print), Facebook Page,  Photography, Videography, Flight Booking, and Hospitality Services. The event was a great success.
